Schentel + Austin ~ Married ~ Rustic Central Illinois Wedding Photographer

This beautiful day was over 6 years in the making. 6 years and 2 beautiful daughters, Schentel & Austin’s little family is now complete. Not to say marriage is any sort of a requirement for a family. And I am sure they have FELT married a few times of the last few years (especially with 2 little ones!) But as their family gushed over how they were wonderful siblings, friends, daughter, son, mother and father, it is pretty nice to be able to add husband and wife to that list.

Weather always plays a big role in a wedding day. Especially when the ceremony is outdoors. I woke up Saturday morning and of course the first thing I looked at was the forecast. There had been a chance of rain all week. But, much to my excitement, the chance of rain was 20% that morning! I breathed a big sigh of relief and went about my day. About 30 minutes prior to the outdoor ceremony beginning, someone alerted to me that I may want to check to weather radar. To be blunt, it didn’t look good. But the timing looked like we could get the ceremony done. After weighing their options, they decided to go forward with the ceremony, as scheduled. As the guests were being seated and the guys lined up, we could hear the thunder in the distance. It was going to be close…..

The Roth’s beautifully wrote their own vows, promising love and devotion. They exchanged their rings, Tied their 3 cord string into a knot. Effectively, “tying the knot”! We prayed, they said “I do”, they kissed and then we all knew we better get inside ASAP. And as we were walking back to the reception hall, the raindrops started! We made it!

Family photos took place under the awning in front of Poe’s On The Hill, their venue. Then the rain stopped, only delaying their bridal party & bride and groom photos, by about 15 minutes. Now it was time to celebrate! Poe’s made their delicious food, Incredibly Delicious made their PHENOMENAL cake and Schentel’s mom was the creator of those cute rustic centerpieces.

It was wonderful watching so many people help make this day what it was. It takes a village and their village is strong! I am so so so happy they choose me to be the one to document their day. Here are just a few (haha kidding a lot) of my favorites. Congratulations Austin & Schentel!!

XOXO- Megan
