They decorated their reception with photos from their teenage years. Prom, homecoming, all flashed across the screen on the DJ booth. Because this one, is a story that started back before these two could drive themselves! Their parents dropped them off at the mall & that is where they had their first meeting. Now here they are, getting married and starting their lives together in their new home. Which just happened to be about a block away from our house. They moved in a couple weeks before we moved out to Chatham, so we were technically neighbors for a bit!
Their ceremony location was just absolutely perfect, at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Located in one of their stone council rings. It was the perfect, intimate location on a perfect fall day. There was a perfect amount of rustic touches in the decor and deep burgundy and greens. It made everything look stunning. Brittany & her mom worked so hard to make sure everything looked perfect and it really did. Everything tied together wonderfully, from the flowers, the centerpieces & even the scentsy wax favors.
As the guys got ready at their house ( a big thank you to my awesome second photographer Jenny, for hanging out with them!), Brittany and her girls got ready at Edgewood Golf Course, where their reception was being held. Later that afternoon, we made our way to Lincoln Memorial Gardens, where Brittany and her dad shared in a first look, right before ceremony time! We stayed right there for all of the portraits and then it was back to Edgewood for their reception.
One of the sweetest moments of the night came when Brittany’s maid of honor Melissa, was too nervous to give her speech, so some of the other girls stood up with her, to help and encourage her. Melissa’s “Life Doesn’t Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful” speech was a perfect mix of funny and sentimental & I know we are all so glad she shared her words with us.
I am so happy I was able to round out my fall weddings with these two. Brittany & Josh, thank you so much for letting me hang out with you & your friends for a day. Enjoy this mini sneak peek of your day. XOXO~ Megan
